ALLEGEAS (Allegias)
Plain weave cotton fabrics made in India from native cotton. They are coarse and heavy, abut 40 X 32 per inch, 14's / 12's. Cheaper varieties are made from yarns spun from various native plants, and better styles have wild silk used as weft. Also called Bethilles.
